Recently, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) officially announced the award of two contracts for the Al Meydan Street Development Project, with a total investment of AED 1.161 billion. The project will deliver approximately 17 km of roads and 3.7 km of bridges, while upgrading several key intersections and transport links. The entire project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2028.

For STAMN’s fourth project, located in Meydan Horizon / Bukadra, this represents more than just a major road upgrade. It also signals stronger connectivity between Meydan and Dubai’s key urban districts.

01 Travel Time Cut from 30 Minutes to 10 Minutes, Enhancing Cross-City Connectivity

According to information released by the RTA, once the Al Meydan Street upgrade is completed, travel time from the Al Manama Street and Dubai–Al Ain Road area to Umm Suqeim Street is expected to decrease from approximately 30 minutes to just 10 minutes, a reduction of around 66%. At the same time, the overall capacity of Dubai’s major north–south transport corridors is expected to increase by approximately 18%.

Meydan Horizon / Bukadra, where STAMN’s fourth project is located, is close to Dubai–Al Ain Road and Meydan’s core transport network, positioning it to benefit from improved connectivity across the wider area.

In the future, journeys from Meydan to Downtown Dubai, Business Bay, Al Quoz, Umm Suqeim, Dubai Hills, Sheikh Zayed Road, and other key destinations will benefit from a wider range of efficient road connections.

02 Al Meydan Street Upgrade to Strengthen Meydan’s Main Road Connectivity

In its official announcement, the RTA identified Al Meydan Street as one of Dubai’s strategic transport corridors. Serving as a parallel and complementary route to Al Khail Road and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, its upgrade will further improve traffic distribution and connectivity between Dubai’s major arterial roads.

The project will also enhance connections between Al Meydan Street and major roads including Al Khail Road, Latifa bint Hamdan Street, Al Marabea’ Street, Umm Suqeim Street, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.

For Meydan, which remains in a phase of rapid development, a more mature arterial road network will provide greater transport capacity to support future residential and commercial development, as well as population growth.

03 Over AED 3.16 Billion in Investment as Meydan’s Transport Network Continues to Evolve

The AED 1.161 billion Al Meydan Street Development Project is not a standalone infrastructure initiative. The RTA has previously launched the Latifa bint Hamdan Street Development Project, with an investment of approximately AED 2 billion. Together, the two projects represent a combined investment of more than AED 3.16 billion.

In the coming years, these projects will further strengthen connectivity between major urban arteries including Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Khail Road, Al Meydan Street, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, and Emirates Road.

As a result, Meydan’s location advantage is evolving beyond simply being “close to Downtown” toward becoming part of a more mature, multi-layered network of Dubai’s major transport corridors.

04 STAMN’s Fourth Project: Looking Ahead to the Future of Meydan

For an off-plan development, location value is not only about what surrounds the project today. It is equally important to consider how the wider area will have evolved by the time the project is delivered.

The Al Meydan Street Development Project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2028. Over the coming years, as Meydan Horizon continues to develop and surrounding transport infrastructure—including Al Meydan Street, Latifa bint Hamdan Street, Dubai–Al Ain Road, and Al Khail Road—continues to improve, Meydan’s overall infrastructure maturity is expected to advance further.
